I am also the founder & CEO of Awamu Biomass Energy, a social enterprise that works to reduce burdens experienced by women and girls while preparing meals for their households through innovative clean cooking products. Awamu makes clean cooking Gasifier stoves; targeting households in peri-urban and rural communities of Uganda that exclusively use the inefficient 3-stone fire stoves for cooking.
One Gasifier stove has the potential to annually save $208 of household INCOME, prevent 8 TREES from being cut, save a local household (women and girls) 540 HOURS of collecting firewood and cooking, make 550 kg of CHARCOAL, and will eliminate 1.9t of CO2 EMISSIONS from reaching the atmosphere.
